Mata Amritanandamayi Ashram at Amritapuri is the headquarters of the famous Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt. This Ashram is set up in the place where Amma was born. Mata Amritanandamayi is an Indian Guru with millions of followers from the Alappad panchayat in the Kollam district in Kerala. She was born in the year 1953 as the third child of a fisherman’s family. The ashram is nestled on a small island cradled between the gorgeous Arabian Sea and the sparkling backwaters.
