Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple is a famous serpent shrine located near Harippad in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. This well known temple is under the support of a Brahmin family. Unlike other temples in the state, this shrine is headed by a priestess. This internationally renowned temple is dedicated to Nagaraja, the serpent God. It is believed that the deity in this pilgrim center is blessed with the spirit of Lord Shiva and has the form of Lord Vishnu. Many devotees from different regions visit this temple to offer prayers to the deity. Many barren women visit the temple to seek blessings of the Nagaraja for children. Women blessed with babies usually come back to the temple to show their gratitude.

The turmeric distributed in the temple has wonderful healing powers and even effective to treat skin problems like leprosy. Mannarasala Nagaraja temple is about 115 kilometers from Cochin International Airport. Kayamkulam is the nearest railway station to this serpent shrine which is almost 20 kilometers from the temple.
