Welcoming with an array of colorful flags, Doling Gompa is situated on a small hillock; serene and green Barfung village, is just 4 km away from Ravangla. The monastery follows one of the oldest sects; the Nyingmapa sect of Buddhism. Being perched on an elevated platform, Doling Gompa is offered with the vista of mighty mountains and thick forest contrasting the patchy blue sky protruding striking rays of the sun. On the way to the monastery, witness the colorfully attired tireless people working on the the plush green fields of cardamon. Doling monastery is one of the most popular tourist spots of Sikkim, famous for the stone bearing the footprint of Dorje lingpa, permanently installed on the inner wall of the Mani Lhakhang along with the images of the Manjushri, Vajrapani and Dorje Lingpa carved on stone slabs by Dorje Lingpa himself.

The options for the adventure enthusiasts visiting Namchi are immense, there are popular treks of Tendong Hill and Maenam Hill that are very close to each other, along with the worthful visit to the Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary and Tendong State biodiversity Park. Getting There
The Doling Gompa or Monastery is situated in the Barfung Village, 4 km away from Ravangla Town. Regular SSRTC buses / shared taxis are available from major cities of Sikkim to reach Ravangla from where one can hire a cab or get onto a bus to reach here.
Best Time To Visit
The best time to visit this place is during the month from February to May and September to mid December, when the weather is pleasing and the views are soul fulfilling.
