Raigad Fort Maharashtra

The Raigad Fort is one of the major spots of tourism in Maharashtra. It is a hill fort that is based in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. Chhatrapati Shivaji has made this fort the capital of his empire in the year 1674. The fort is situated at 2700ft above the sea level. It is located in the Shayadri mountain range. Getting There

There are more than one route to reach the place. First there is the route 1 where one can reach the fort via the Tamhini Ghat. The distance between Pune and Raigad is about 150 km. Tourists are warned not to avail any of the routes during the night time since that might not be really safe.
