The Nambor Doigrung Wildlife Sanctuary is located at about a distance of 25 kms from the Golaghat town of Assam. This place is covered with tropical forests and was recognized as a sanctuary by the Assam government in the year 2003. This sanctuary is a part of the Kaziranga Karbi Anglong Elephant Reserve and houses a wide variety of wildlife creatures along with a collection of flora. One can see here different kinds of birds some of which are great pied hornbill, adjutant stork, white winged wood duck, wreathed hornbill, etc. among the reptiles the sanctuary preserves tortoise, python, monitor lizard and many others. You can also spot some rare species of orchids here along with some other beautiful flora collections like ajar, gomari, bhelu, nahor, poma, udiyam, etc. Pig-tailed macaque, elephant, stumped-tailed macaque, tiger, fishing cat, leopard, barking deer, sambar, slow loris, etc are some of the other wildlife creatures to be seen at the Nambor-Doigrung Wildlife Sanctuary. This wildlife reserve is also famous for hot water spring and it is dotted with several other glittering water bodies and is an oasis of greenery spread all around. One cannot resist falling in love with nature on a visit to this sanctuary.
