It is always a thrilling yet refreshing experience trekking up the mountains and Nagaland’s sole highest peak Mount Saramati offers great trails to mount on. In order to soar the mountain, you have to traverse through various villages and towns which in a way offers a great insight into the local lifestyle and culture. Our 6N/7D package to Mount Saramati will offer you a drive through Dimapur, Kohima, Pungru, Thanamir leading to the peak. As you reach the top, (if the weather is clear) you will get eye popping view of the beautiful heap of mountains of Nagaland and a spellbinding sight of the Chindwin River of Myanmar. The best time to go on a trek to Mount saramati is during the months of March, April, October and November.
Itinerary
Dimapur to Kohima
As you arrival at Dimapur, you will meet our representative thereafter a drive to Kohima. On reaching you can check in and rest in Razhii Pru hotel in Kohima.
Kohima to Pungro
After breakfast, you will be taken towards Pungro from Kohima via Chizami. You will be served with dinner and overnight stay at the Pungru government guesthouse.
Pungro to Thanamir
Morning after breakfast you will be driven from Pungro to Thanamir village. This village is known for their delicious apples. Lunch will be served thereafter you can begin the trek from Thanamir and camp the night midway to Mount Saramati.
Mount Saramati
Morning after breakfast, you can onward your journey from the campsite to Saramati. You can rest for a quick lunch at the peak and spend rest of the day in the midst of nature. You can camp over the night at the peak.
Mount Saramati to Thanamir
After breakfast, get your bags ready to return back to Thanamir base camp and on arrival camp at Thanamir.
Thanamir to Kohima (full day drive)
On day 6, you will be received and driven to Kohima. As you reach, you will stay at the Razhii Pru hotel in Kohima.
Kohima to Dimapur
After breakfast in Razhii Pru, you will be driven to Dimapur for your onward travel connection.
