The captivating Tipu Sultan Museum is situated inside Daria Daulat Bagh, the summer palace of Tipu Sultan displays the items mostly related to the great ruler. A portrait made by the British artist G.F. Cherry showing the king wearing a striped shirt, a girth belt and a cross belt decorated with beautiful stones is a delight to the eyes. There are around eighteen pencil sketches exhibited to the visitors. Most of the sketches include Tipu Sultan's seven sons, his vakils, commanders, companion and senior door keeper.
The age-old coins issued by the king in various denominations like the paisa, quarter paisa, half paisa and one-eighth paisa are also on display. The costume of Tipu Sultan like a pajama, silk coat and straw hat are also showcased to the visitors. The weapons that the king used to carry in war like the daggers, swords and brass cannon are popular attractions of the museum.
