The northeastern state of Sikkim offers two seasons for trekking – April – June (summer season) and October – March (winter season). Sikkim receives heavy rainfall during the monsoon season (July-September) and issues like blocked roads and landslides are common making it an unfavourable time to trek in the state.
For both, summer and winter seasons, there are a number of treks in Sikkim. In summer season, trekkers can plan their expedition to popular treks in Sikkim like Goecha La, Kanchanjunga Base Camp Trek, Dzongri Trek, Green Lake Trek, Sandakphu Singalila Ridge Trek, Tholung Trek and more.
In winter season, trekkers can plan doing some of the summer treks till November including Goechla Trek. The best winter treks to do in Sikkim are Versay Trek, Tosar Lake Trek, Singalila Uttaray Trek, and Kasturi Labdang Goechala Round Trek.
