Trekking in Kumaon can be enjoyed throughout the year. However, the best time for trekking in Kumaon for adventure lover is April – June and September – November. During these months, the weather remains pleasant and clear with less chances of rainfall making it quite comfortable for trekking.
In summer season (April – June), almost all the treks open in Kumaon. Trekkers can plan their expeditions to Milam Glacier, Pindari Glacier, Kafni Glacier, Sunderdhunga Valley, Ralam Valley, and the famed Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Trek. The trekking trails during summer are clear of snow and road blocks giving trekkers ample opportunity to enjoy the beauty of this region in Uttarakhand.
In winter season (November – March), most of the treks are open till November but Binsar Trek, Nainital British Trail and Bhatkot Adventure Trek remain open even in the colder months of December and January.
Treks like Milam Glacier, Pindari Glacier, Namik Glacier, Nanda Devi East Base Camp, Panchachulli Glacier, Sunder Dunga, and Adi Kailash & Om Parvat remain open for trekkers in monsoon season (July – September) as well.
