Tashi Tenka was once the royal palace complex on a ridge to the south of town but now just a ground promising the wonderful views of the surrounding. Facing towards the south one can spot the Rabdentse Monastery a bit higher to the left of the Pemayangtse Monastery. And then behold a cloudy view of the sleek Rathong Valley flowing in between the high jagged hills, on to the north direction. While on the east, one can see a perfect road to Tashiding with the backdrop of the forested hills and then there is a breathtaking view of Khecheopalri on the west.

Yuksom is a marked by many Buddhist pilgrimages. For a peaceful getaway Tashi Tenka provide with many monasteries nearby such as Dubdi Monastery, Kartok Monastery and Tashiding Monastery. Another religious place, Norbugang Chorten, where lies the seats of the 3 lamas and the first Chogyal King, very popular in historical point of view as well. Then, for the wildlife lovers, a very popular tourist spot Khangchendzonga National Park not only because of its impressive wilderness but alpine habitats which attracts not only the wildlife enthusiasts but also the nature lovers.

Getting Here
To get here one has to trek a little, up to the ridge. Yuksom can be reached by taking a shared Jeep / Taxi / SSRTC Buses from Geyzing (39 km / 1 hour 48 min) or from Pelling (40 km/ 1 hour 39 min). Private taxis are also available if one wants to enjoy halting in between for appreciating the scenic view of beautiful Yuksom or to avoid walking due to unavailability of any public transport.
