Khuga Dam Churachandpur

Khuga Dam is a beautiful location for that perfect day-out trip in Churachandpur district. Built over an artificial lake, the dam serves as one of the major sightseeing places in the district. Initially, Khuga Dam was created with a purpose to generate electricity and water supply, however, with the time it became a prime picnic spot in Churachandpur district. The dam was initially built in the year 1983 but its condition got worse in the later years, and hence, the construction work was again started in 2002 with an aim to deploy it for various purposes. And in 2010, the reconstruction of the dam got completed. Since then, Khuga Dam is serving as one of the important places of tourist interest in Churachandpur region.

The place is visited by numerous travellers throughout the year, especially during the winter season which is also the best time to visit Khuga Dam. From October to March, the season of winter is in Churachandpur district is all about pleasant weather conditions that makes sightseeing easy in the region. However, summer also receives a significant footfall of tourists at Khuga Dam making it also an ideal time to visit the place.
