Kangla Fort Imphal

History
The fort was the tradition seat of the kingly governance that was there from the rule of the legendary God-king Nongda Lairen Pakhangba in 33A.D to Maharaj Kulachandra in 1891 A.D. Once the home of the Manipuri royals, the fort was soon overrun by the British and later the Assam Rifles. As we are moving ahead in years, the significance of the place has slowly been eroded.
