Tourist Attractions in Ratnagiri
Also known as Port City or the City of Kings, Ratnagiri is one of the best holiday places in Maharashtra. It is blessed with many tourist attractions and the things to do in Ratnagiri list is also interesting. Beaches form an integral part of Ratnagiri Tourism and amongst the best is Ganapatipule Beach. It is situated 28 km away from Ratnagiri city and is named after Lord Ganesha. It also has an ancient temple that attracts a large number of devotees. Shri Devi Bhagwati Temple is another significant temple that is situated within Ratnagiri Fort and is devoted to Goddess Durga. This temple is one of the major religious places in Ratnagiri and thus is considered as one of the must see places. Then there is Bhagwati Temple that is known for its architectural brilliant.
Ratnagiri Lighthouse is a different kind of tourism place that is located at a distance of about 10 km from the prime city. The Lighthouse is a pleasing spot and provides visitors with a complete 360 degree view of the surrounding Arabian Sea. The Ratnagiri Fort falls on one side of the lighthouse with the Arabian Sea at the other end.
