While traveling to Karjat, make a point to stop by at the gleaming white Jain Temple at the Mahavir Peth. The temple might be small in size but finely crafted by the Jain community. And it is quite prominent too as it is the only Jain Temple in the region. To reach the temple, one need to make its way through the brilliantly decorated the entrance. The main hall of the temple adorns the statue of the Lord Neminath, the 22nd Jain Tirthankar. The temple is spread over two floors. The upper level of the main sanctum is dedicated to Lord Shantinath, the 16th Jain Tirthankar.
Every corner of the temple is finely crafted and decorated with figures. Even the domes of the temple carry beautiful inscriptions that are hard to find anywhere else. The most prominent feature of this temple is the Swastika carved wooden door.
