How To Reach Lonavala
Standing at about 100 kilometers from Mumbai airport, Lonavla is a lovely excursion spot in Maharashtra. Railways is a vital mode of transportation to visit Lonavla as the hill station lies on the connecting line of Mumbai and Pune rail line. Many trains on this route stop at this station. However, the best way to reach Lonavla would be to drive from Mumbai or Pune. Not only it is convenient to travel by road but the route is scenic as well.
By Air
Lonavla lacks an airport but you can easily land at the Pune International Airport stationed at some 64 kilometers away from Lonavla or Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport which is some 104 kilometers away and is situated in Mumbai. Lonavala boasts of a seaplane offering its service availability between Pune and Mumbai.
By Rail:
Lonavla stands as one of the major halts on the tracks of railway connecting Mumbai with Pune. In case of local trains that leave from Pune and take you to Lonavla, the interval of departure is as short as 2 hours. But in the case of trains that leave from Mumbai, Khopoli is the last stoppage, from where one easily cover the distance by availing bus services. If left from Pune, it takes near about an hour to reach Lonavla while it takes an hour and a half from Mumbai.
By Road
Lonavla is nestled on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. About 64 kilometers from Pune and 96 kilometers from Mumbai, it is an easy to go destination from either of the two cities. The hill-station connects itself with the towns of Talegaon Dabhade, Khopoli, Karjat and many others.
