Best Time to Visit Sinhagad
Known as Lion’s Fort, Sinhagad was formerly named as Kondhana after the famous sage Kaudinya. The fort though in dilapidated condition, deserves your visit at least once for you are sure to enjoy the essence of history that can be witnessed here. Sinhagad is wise to be visited during the monsoons or winters.
Summer
With sweltering heat reining the summers in Sinhagad, it is advisable not to visit the place during this season. The hot and uncomfortable summer season kick-starts from the month of March and extends up to the mid of June with temperatures rising up to 42 degree Celsius during the daytime and going astonishingly low during the night, thanks to Sinhagad’s soaring heights.
Monsoon
Beginning from the month of June and ending by September, monsoons bring along some respite from the sweltering heat of the summers. The recorded rainfall ranges something between 22 degree Celsius and 28 Degree Celsius. Monsoon is one of the apt, amongst the three seasons to visit Sinhagad. The smell of doused earth followed by the cool weather adds on to the glamour of the place.
Winter
Kick-starting from the month of November, winter is the best time to visit the fort. Sinhagad is best experienced with some biting cold temperatures of 19 degree doing the rounds, and the placid cool breeze flowing across the face.
