Best Time to Visit Pune
Pune is the cultural capital of Maharashtra, situated as a capstone on the Deccan Plateau, bordering by the right bank of Mutha River. Due to its location, the weather prevailing over the hilly city is generally hot and humid around the months of summer and colorful umbrellas can be seen throughout the months of monsoon. The perfect time to visit Pune is the months from October to February, when the weather is calm and enjoyable. December is another festive month, famous for Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Mahotsav which attracts Indian classical music lovers from all parts of the country.
Summer
March to June has maximum temperatures up to 42 °C (108 °F). End of May experiences too much of dusty winds and humidity remains high. The highest temperature in Pune till date has been 43.3 °C (109.9 °F).
Monsoon
Rainy months are from June to October, with moderate rainfall and the temperature is around 22 to 28 °C. Annual rainfall is about 722 mm (28.43 in) and is experienced between June and September.
Winter
The winter days are not chilling cold, so travelers can venture out and try different Maharashtra street food. The daytime temperature is around 26 °C and at night it falls to below 9 °C. December and January temperatures often drop to 5 to 6 °C.
