When to Visit Yusmarg for Holidays?

Yusmarg is a famous hill station in Jammu & Kashmir. Although it can be visited round the year, the best season to visit Yusmarg is winter season from October to Feb. We can classify the Yusmarg season as below:

Climate in Yusmarg

Summer Season

The summer season in Yusmarg begins in March when the snow starts to melt to reveal the lush meadows for which this tourist destination is famous. During the season, the weather is pleasant and offers respite from the blazing heat in other North Indian destinations. The season ends in mid-June.

Monsoon Season

Mid-June marks the beginning of monsoon in Yusmarg. Ideally, monsoon is not the best time to visit the place. However, since Yusmarg does not get a high amount of rainfall, it can still be chosen as a holiday destination in Kashmir. The season ends in September.

Winter Season

The season when the entire place turns into fairytale land, winter begins in Yusmarg in October and ends in February. During this season, especially in December and January, the stretch above Charar-e-Shareef gets blocked due to snow making it difficult to reach Yusmarg. Those who are interested in visiting Yusmarg in winter have to hire 4X4 vehicle.
