When to Visit Sonmarg for Holidays?

Climate in Sonmarg

Summer Season ((March till June, Temperature 15°C to 30°C)

Sonmarg has pleasant weather during the summer months and especially from April to June. The temperature remains between 15 and 30 degree Celsius. This is the best time to visit Sonmarg as the valley gets adorned with colourful flowers. It is also the ideal time to enjoy the various adventure activities like mountain biking and trekking, offered at this hill station.

Monsoon Season (July to September, Temperature 13°C to 17°C)

The monsoons declare their arrival in Sonmarg in July through infrequent rainfall. The temperature ranges from 13°C to 17°C. It is also an excellent time to visit Sonmarg. However, adventure activities become risky during this season.

Winter Season (October to February, Temperature -2°C to 12°C)

During the winter months, Sonmarg becomes inaccessible due to heavy snowfall. However, those who want to sight snowfall can visit at the beginning of December or in March. October is the best time to try out the various adventure activities offered here.
