Summer Season
The onset of summers in Dharamshala begins in April and continues until June. The temperature during this time of the year ranges between 25 and 35 degrees celsius, along with a salubrious weather throughout. Outdoor activities like sightseeing, picnicking and shopping are quite popular during this time. Adventure activities like trekking, paragliding, rock climbing, camping and river rafting are enthusiastically pursued by adventure junkies during summers.
Winter Season
Winters in Dharamshala begin around October and last until March. The temperature drops to about 7 degrees Celsius during the day time, making the entire stretch from Dharamshala to McLeodganj quite cold and chilly. This is the time when most of the couples and honeymooners head to this scenic paradise, looking for fun by playing in the snow or cosying up around the bonfire. Adventure enthusiasts, going on a snow trek of Triund is a hot favourite during this time.
Monsoon Season
Dharamshala receives substantial rainfall from July to September, with temperatures ranging between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius. Adverse weather conditions, roadblocks and landslides are common during these months. Though not a recommended season to plan your holidays in Dharamshala, if you love rains and the awashed landscape, it would be great to plan a vacation during this time.
