A major tourist attraction in the state of Assam is Shiva Dol. Located in the Sivasagar district, this place happens to be one of the most famous pilgrimage spots in the country as well. Shiva Dol is the tallest Shiva temple in the entire Northeast India. It is the highest temple in the country as well with a height of 104 feet. The Vishnu Dol and Devi Dol are other two small temples surrounding this tall temple and are dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Durga. These temples are situated on the banks of the famous Sibsagar Lake which is more than 200 years old.
The Shiva Dol has a massive dome on top and is called the Kosoloi. This part of the temple is made of pure gold. The pillars and walls of the temples have engravings in the form of various Hindu Gods and Goddesses. This was a created by kings of Ahom dynasty.

Rang Ghar, an old monument is another place that you can visit. Charaideo, located 28 km away have burial vaults of the Ahom kings and queens. Ahom museum is another place that you can visit. Talatal Ghar is another famous tourist attraction here and tourists visit this place for its beautiful architecture. Some of the other places that you can visit are Gaurisagar Lake, Gargaon Palace, Sivasagar Lake, and Joysagar tank.
