Deosal is a tourist spot well known for its Shiva temple, and is situated in the Morigaon district of Assam. The town of Jagi Road is just 4 km away from this spot, and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary about 1 km away. The temple of Lord Shiva is an ancient temple and attracts people who are interested in old art and architecture, and history too. According to Hindu mythology, this was also the site where the ashrama of Maharishi Valmiki was once located, and Sita had lived here after abandoned by Lord Ram, and gave birth to her twin sons, Lava and Kusha.

It is quite easy to get to the Deosal temple, as it is situated on the National Highway 37, and thus taxis, cars and buses are available. The Jagi Road town and Jagi Road railway station is only about 4 km away from Deosal, which makes transportation convenient.

If you are interested in the religious aspect of the temple, or want to take part in the fair, the best time to visit the Deosal temple of Morigaon is during the Shivaratri.
However, the weather can be hot and humid during that time of the year. Winter and spring are two of the most comfortable seasons to visit this place. The monsoon season should ideally be avoided, especially the late monsoon as there is incessant rain in the area.
