One important tourist attraction of the city Bhomoraguri where the longest bridge of Assam named the Kalia bhomora is situated. This beautiful bridge stretches over the mighty River Brahmaputra and covers a length of about 3 kms. This bridge is being named after a popular person named Kalia Bhomora Phukan who initiated the construction of this bridge during the Ahom rule. This long bridge is a connecting link between the two districts; one being the Sonitpur district and the other is the Nagaon district. This concrete road bridge at Tezpur took about 6 years to get completed and is the outcome of the hard work and labour of the masons. This bridge has also been awarded by the American Concrete Institute for its outstanding construction and concrete structure. The bridge looks beautiful after sunset when the lights are lit up and it appears as if the Brahmaputra River has been adorned with a stunning necklace. The place also offers a fantastic view of the sunrise from this point and this scene is a must capture in your lenses.
