Baladev Pukhuri is a registered government fishing zone and scenic pond in Darrang district of Assam. The place it is located at is known as Baldevpara on the west of Sipajharat. It is spread over an area of 15 acre and is one of the oldest ponds in Assam. It was built during the reign of King Bali Narayan, also Dharma Narayan, who fought against the Mughal along the Ahoms. Baladev Pukhuri is now a part of government fishery project and also a haven for bird watchers.

You can reach Baladev Pukhuri from Guwahati in less than 2 hours via state buses.
To reach Baladev Pukhuri, the local transport of taxis or auto rickshaws are convenient enough from rail stations and bus stands.

The best time to visit Darrang is winter. The ponds are full of migratory birds while the weather is cool and pleasant as well.
