Overview
The Bai Jerbia Wadia Hospital for children popularly known as the Wadia hospital was built in the memory of Bai Jerbai Wadia, mother of Sir Ness Wadia and Sir Cusrow Wadia. The foundation stone of the hospital was laid on 7th March 1928, and the hospital was declared open to the patients by the Governor of Bombay, Sir Frederick Sykes on 12th December 1929.

It provides excellent treatment to children with brightly painted walls and surrounding their favorite Disney characters. Here children are treated for a wide variety of rare and complex conditions. Wadia hospital is very famous for many years. I take my child treatment there. I want to give it 5 stars for doctors. I am very much happy with Hematology doctors. Specially Sangeeta doctor and Parth doctor. they check up my child completely. ask questions in detail, see all reports. All other clinic doctor give only 5 minutes for patients. Hemat doctor in wadia give much time, they check in detail. they explain everything in detail. God bless them. I have only complain to case counter and laboratory. Big big lines. Wadia should make more counters for case and sample giving.

Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital is amongst the very few Paediatrics Hospitals in the city of Mumbai. It was founded in the year 1929, when first of all no doctors was fully aware of the Paediatrics or children problem. In memory of their mother Bai Jerbai Wadia, Sir Ness Wadia and Sir Cusrow Wadia built "The Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children", Emerging as India’s first specialized Paediatrics hospital in India then. It was dedicated exclusively to healthcare for children, and does an excellent service for young children upto the age of 15 years.

Doesn't deserve a single star because of negligent resident doctor!!! Every good thing comes with some bad issues, Same with this beautiful hospital. My niece was admitted in this hospital for minor surgery in private ward under one of best surgeon Dr. Bendre, she is very polite and very careful for her patients but this thing is totally opposite with resident doctor of private ward, my patient was admitted there in ward 14 on first floor for just 5 days but those 5 days goes like a year due to lack of care from ward doctor Shadul who was posted there, most of the time doesn't stay there for which i have to ask sister there to call him, i am not from medical field but due to his carelessness and n i have learned many thing from google for monitoring my patient, he is so rude and arrogant which shouldn't be there in doctor whome we treat like angels. He never comes to see patient on his own and when we ask about child condition he just goes on replying " ask consultant," Management should take utmost care for such issues and dont let such doctor to ruined name of this beautiful heaven

Here is what I experienced... Advantages:- 1. All major facilities like Nicu, ventilator etc are available 2. Treatment is slow but it works 3. Hospital is not free, it has nominal charges which are fairly less than private hospitals 4. People who's budget is tight, can consider this hospital 5. Few member of security staff is very polite and helps to get information Disadvantages:- 1. Poorly Managed 2. You will never get all medicines in the hospital medical store 3. Dr. will never provide complete information on prescribed tests / blood. This requires 2-3 round for 1 task 4. 90% of the time, you will not get blood in the near by blood bank in Wadia, KEM, Tata etc. Please consider this, if baby is critical 5. There is a Pathology dept, however, Dr will always asks you to visit outside Pathology centres. Not a single test done in the hospitals Pathology. 6. Please keep bundles of cash ready, cards will mostly not work in Medical or Billing Dept. They will always have issue with machine. 7. You will never get Baby's status on time 8. Only Mother's allowed in NICU. If mother can't come one replacement can be acceptable 9. One Male is always required 24hrs to bring medicines, tests, blood collection and others 10. No parking for 2/4 wheeler available in/outside hospital 11. They do not provide original file/report so it is very difficult to apply for mediclaim. Forget about Mediclaim, they will literally make you cry for the documents 12. Medicines will not be returned if original bills are misplaced. So please keep them safe. 13. There is no blood bank and you have to visit other hospital to get blood. You will not get blood after first time without arguing/getting a donar along with you. Very bad situation. 14. Hospital staff is not at all supportive.
