Moving further and heading up the Buri Gandaki River valley we will come across the Dudh Kosi river where you will get to witness some of pristine rhododendron forests in Nepal. Following the trail for a couple of days we will end the trek at Besisahar. Upon arriving at the Tribhuvan International Airport you will be greeted by our tour representative who will transfer you to your hotel. To get the first impression of Kathmandu we will first take you to the Kathmandu Durbar Square where you will get to explore the beautiful complex of palaces, temples, shrines and courtyards dating back to the 12th and 13th century. Once you are done with witnessing the magnificent Kathmandu Durbar Square, we will take you to Thamel which is vibrant tourist area in Nepal where we can enjoy drinking, have dinner and discuss your itinerary for further Manaslu Trek.
Today we will discover the main highlights of the Kathmandu Valley. Keeping in mind your interest and desire we will plan the second day. Usually, we head to the popular Pashupatinath Temple where the main deity is Lord Shiva. Next we will head to Boudhanath where the finest and holiest whitewashed stupa represents the ancient Buddhist culture of Nepal. The sightseeing tour will end in Patan which is an astonishing center of fine art, Buddhist and Hindu culture.
This day we will board a local charter from Kathmandu to reach Gorkha covering up 5 hours of journey. Enroute you will also get to witness beautiful Trishuli River. Soon we will reach Gorkha where we will have lunch and after resting for a while we will begin our trek. We will start climbing towards the palace of the old Gorkha king. After a 2.5 hour of walk we will finally reach the campsite near Kalika Temple.
Taking the lovely views of the Gorkha Himal, we will head to Kanchok which will take around 5 hours. As we proceed further, we will get an opportunity to treat our eyes with the scenic farmer area that includes orange, banana trees, rice terraces and corn fields. Upon reaching Kanchok, you will witness the tiny village has space created for the tourist camping and has a few shops selling essential products. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite in Kanchok.
In the morning, we will head to Arughat through cultivated terraced hillsides and villages. Soon we will reach Mardi Khola where we will enjoy our lunch at the riverbank. Post-lunch we continue walking across streams and fields and covering 4.5 hours we will reach Arughat Bazar where we will show our travel permits and settle down to rest at a pleasant camping place.
This day we will head to Soti Khola (popular for natural honey) by following a stone-paved street north through the Arughat bazaar. Crossing all the path we reach Sante Bazaar where you will find a number of shops and get a good view of the Shringi Himal. From here, the trek will become a little harder with the valley growing steeper and the trail crosses the Arket Khola via a suspension bridge and passes the shops of Arkhet. As we move ahead we come across a cascading waterfall and reach Gurung and Magar village of Kyorpani. Soon we will reach Soti Khola where we will spend our night in a cozy camping site.
In the morning, we will leave for Machha Khola where we will trek through beautiful sal forests. As we move ahead we will climb above Buri Gandaki and from here the trail goes along with vertical rock walls. Heading down to the river and after 7 hours of long walk we finally reach Machha Khola where we prepare our camps for night stay.
This day will be more adventurous with many ups and down. Day 8 we will head to Jagat across streams and steep valleys. Soon, we will reach Tatopani where the hot spring is the center of the small village. Moving ahead with a mild climb we will reach Doban where we will have our lunch. where we lunch. Crossing the Buri Gandaki and after 6 hours of walk we finally Jagat which is a beautiful flagstone village. Camping in the centre of the village, we will spend a peaceful night.
In the morning we will head to Ngyak by climbing a terraced hill to Saguleri. As we move ahead in our trekking journey we will get a spectacular view over the Shringi Himal. Crossing the Gate Khola river via a long suspension bridge we climb to Philim. Climbing further and completing the 7 hours hiking we reach Ngyak. Overnight will be at the campsite.
Rise and feel more enthusiastic as we will head to Ghap. As we move towards Ghap we will cross serval rivers by several suspension bridges and leave the canyon at Deng village. On entering Deng, you will feel yourself surrounded by peace and sanctity as the village is inhabited by the Gurungs who practise Buddhism. Moving ahead through forests and corn and wheat fields until we will reach Ghap.
This day we will cross the Buri Gandaki through dense forest of fir, rhododendron, bamboo, oaks and sooth our ears by the chirping of birds. As we continue with our hiking and walking tour we will enter alpine territory and enjoy the close up views of the Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. Soon after 5 hours of trekking we will reach Namrung which is a region inhabited by the Tibetans
This day as we head to Lho Gaon above Namrung we get the spectacular views of Manaslu, Manaslu North and Naike Peak which appears at the head of the valley. Meanwhile crossing the villages, we will come across the stone houses that are clustered together with Tibetan people sharing common roof. Soon we will reach Lho Gaon where we will set up the camp. Waking up early in the morning you will get to witness the breathtaking views of the sunrise over Manaslu and Manaslu north.
Morning we will leave for Samagaon by climbing on a plateau where you will get to witness the vistas of Himalchuli and Ngadi Chuli. Soon after 4 hours of trekking we will reach Samagaon where we will set up our camp. On reaching Samagaon you will witness the only crops grown here are potatoes and barley. Also, the biggest occupation of the people of Samagaon is weaving.
Day 15 will be for rest and acclimatization day in Samagaon which is important for further trekking.
In the morning we will head to the Samdo which is 4 hours away from Samagaon. As we traverse we get to witness the beautiful mountain views beautiful mountain views and crossing the small bridge and river rocks we reach Kermo Kharka. From here we can spot the entrance chorten of Samdo. Upon reaching Samdo, you will get the opportunity to learn about Tibetan lifestyle and culture.
Taking the Tibetan trade route and a steep ascent we will head to Dharamsala. After four hours of walk and climbing some of the glaciers and getting more mountain views we will reach Dharamshala. We will rest here, enjoy lunch and keep ourselves warm to be fit to cross the past the next day.
This day we rise and head to Bintang where we cross the Larkya La Pass which is the highest point of our trek. As we continue trekking we will get to enjoy the views of Cho Danda, Ganesh Himal and Larkya Peak. We will make a gradual ascent through snow look for footprints from snow leopard or blue sheeps. The climb will take about 4 hours and as we move ahead we will get our first glimpse of peaks in the Annapurna Massif – Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Gyaji Kung, Kang Guru and Annapurna II. And after 7 hours of hiking we will arrive at our camp in Bintang.
Crossing the beautiful pine and rhododendron forest we will head to Gho. After 6 hours of long trekking we will reach Gho where you will find tea shops and lodges. Spending a night here, next day we will leave for Tal.
Today we will descend to Dudh Khola that separates the Manaslu and Annapurna ranges. When you visit Dharapani you may experience a culture shock. Once you are done with exploring Dharapani we will follow the main Annapurna Circuit trail and soon cross the Marsyangdi River. As we continue heading towards Tal we will come across several small tea houses at Khorte. Descending further we will see the lovely settlement of Tal with some beautiful cascades.
This day we will return from Tal and head towards the sub-tropical forest of Besisahar. Upon reaching we set up our last campsite and celebrate our last night’s party.
With this comes the end of our trek and we return back to Kathmandu by covering approx 5 hours journey by bus.
Upon arriving at Kathmandu, you will get the opportunity to enjoy the sightseeing in Kathmandu. We will take you on a visit to Nyatapola Temple and climb the long stairs to the stupa of Swayambhunath. Also, you will get to visit the sleeping Vishnu at Budhanilkantha and witness the beautiful wood carvings like the Peacock window in Bhaktapur. Other than this, we will take you to the markets of Kathmandu where you can indulge in in shopping or enjoy coffee at the bakeries of Thamel or the Garden of Dreams. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Pack your bags as you will be escorted to Tribhuvan International Airport to catch your flight on time for the journey ahead.
