How To Reach Trashi Yangtse?
Bhutan is connected to the rest of the world by air and road. There is an international airport which operates flights to international destinations. Besides that, there is an excellent road connectivity. Here is the best way of reaching Trashi Yangtse.
By Air
There is one international airport in Bhutan called Paro International Airport. It is located at a distance of about 50.8 km from Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Once you land at the airport, you can hire any taxis or private vehicle to take you to Thimphu. The total driving distance from Paro International Airport to Thimphu is almost 1 hours 15 minutes. After reaching Thimphu, you will have to embark on a long drive to Trashi Yangtse, consisting of almost 15 hours. You will find taxis, private vehicles or buses from Thimphu. During the drive, you will have to make a night halt, and other short halts as and when the situation demands.
By Road
Bus services, apart from taxis and private vehicles, are available from Thimphu to Trashi Yangtse. The bus will leave at early hours of the morning on the first day, around 7:00 AM and reach 5:30 pm the next day. During the course of the ride, there will be a night halt at Bumthang. Bus services are also available from Phuentsholing to Trashi Yangtse, although this bus is only run on Wednesday. If you happen to be in Trashigang, then you can catch a bus to Trashiyangtse, with a total driving time of 3 hours.
