How to Reach Lhuentse?

Mongar, which is a fast developing Dzongkha in the eastern part of Bhutan, is easily accessible from other districts & towns of Bhutan by road.

By Air

Mongar doesn’t have its own airport. The nearest airport to Mongar is the Paro International Airport in Paro (452 km away). This airport runs several flights connecting Bhutan with all the major cities of the world. One has to reach Thimphu from here and then take a bus to Mongar. Cabs are available from both Thimphu and Paro for Mongar.

By Road

Mongar can be visited by road from Thimphu, Trashigang and Samdrup Jongkhar. Buses going to Mongar are available from Thimphu in the morning and it takes around 11 hours to complete this journey. Frequent buses for Mongar are also available from Trashigang (5 hours) and Samdrup Jongkhar (11 hours).
