Only a few highly experienced and certified pilots are allowed to operate flights from here. There are direct as well as connecting flights from Indian cities like Delhi, Siliguri, Kolkata, Guwahati and Gaya. Talking about other countries, Druk Airlines extends its services to places like Kathmandu, Singapore, Bangkok and Dhaka. Once in Paro, you can book a private taxi to Samtse, or take a bus that leaves Paro at 7:00 AM every alternate day.
By Road
You can take a road trip from Jaigaon in West Bengal, India with frequent halts and reach Samtse. Royal Bhutanese Government also runs buses from Esplanade Station in Kolkata to Thimphu in Bhutan. From Thimphu, one can book a private taxi to Samtse or take a bus to Paro followed by another bus to Samtse from Paro.
