Established on the Magadi Tank, which is located 26 km from Gadag in Karnataka, Magadi Tank sprawls over an area of 134 acre and has 900 hectare of catchment area. This sanctuary is known for the Bar Headed Goose, which is a migratory bird that feeds on crops instead of amphibians. There are more than 134 species of birds that can be seen in this sanctuary. Some of the bird species spotted at this sanctuary are Oriental Ibis, Comb Duck, Purple Heron, Gray Heron, and Greater Flamingo.
