Best Time to Visit Kaziranga National Park
The climate in Kaziranga is typically tropical. It is very hot and humid in summers (April – June), and warm days and cold nights in winters (November – January). Every year, the water of the Brahmaputra River floods the park during the monsoon. The rainy season continues from June to August. Kaziranga becomes inaccessible during this season. November to April is the best time to visit Kaziranga National Park.
Summer Season in Kaziranga – March to May
Summer Season in Kaziranga is not very pleasant for nature sightseeing because of the hot and humid weather. The temperature goes up to 37 degree Celsius in Summer season here. The dry and windy climate of Kaziranga National Park makes the atmosphere hot and humid. But if you are a wildlife enthusiast, it is the best time to visit here. - Morning Jeep Safari: 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM
- Afternoon Jeep Safari: 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM

- By Air: Jorhat (96 kms) is the nearest airport.
- By Rail: Furketing (75 kms) is the nearest station.
- By Bus: It is advisable to come to Jorhat or Guwahati (240 km) and then take (a cab or a bus to reach the park.

There is a wide assortment of options for accommodation in Kaziranga ranging from the rest houses to luxury resorts, dormitories and tourist lodges. Most of them are maintained by the Forest Department or ITDC and some are privately owned as well. There is a need of prior booking in the state-run forest resorts. Some of the main private resorts are Grassland Resort (an eco-resort), Wild Grass Lodge, The Infinity Resort, Jupuri Ghar, Diphlu River Lodge. Other such good options are Landmark Woods, Dhanashree Lodge, Iora Resort and Bonhabi resort.

- Bokakhat- Bokakhat (23 Kms) is famous as a base for various tourist attractions around the area.
