Uttarakhand Tourism will host the Tehri Lake Festival (Mahotsav) from February 16-17 in 2021 at Tehri Lake, located in New Tehri in the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. It is Asia’s biggest lake festival, and an event which you would not want to miss!
The festival is usually held around this time of the year. The objective behind organising this festival has been to develop the lake as an international tourist spot. The festival promises you a wonderful mix of adventure, entertainment and musical performances.

Photo & jewellery exhibitions are other events that are a part of the festival. The festival will also host several arts and cultural performances, and will see the participation of famous artists from all across the country, including Bollywood.
Furthermore, there are several adventure activities that visitors will be able to enjoy at the Tehri Adventure Tourism Festival. These include paragliding, kayaking and river rafting. This year though, the Army, BSF & ITBP will also be participating in adventure sports activities.
The entrance to the Tehri Lake Festival will be decorated with burnt flowers this year. During the course of the festival, visitors will be served tea containing milk from the Badri cow. The Badri Cow is a strong, robust and disease-resistant breed, found in Almora & Pauri Garhwal districts of Uttarakhand. Bhaddu ki Dal, which is a famous dish in Uttarakhand, will also be served to visitors.
